Checking In

It's been quiet on the blog lately, hasn't it? Sorry. I have been stitching up a storm. I've started lots of new projects, things catch my eye and I can't help it. I've been doing all of my sewing on my lovely Singer 306k, it's a perfect machine.

Over the Christmas holidays I started a string quilt project. I have quite a lot done but my design board is very small, so here is a small section. It's a Jacobs ladder with string triangles and 4 patches, all scrappy. Some of the squares came from the swap I organised on Ravely in December.

I also made a toile for a dress in the holidays but never got around to making the dress.

Then I bought a 1/4" foot for my Singer 306k and started a Carolina Chain quilt. I have 96 x 6" blocks done so far and I need a total of 169. I have assembeled almost half of the top.

Then, "ooh look, squirrel". I started a Wild and Goosey quilt. I have no plan for how big I will make this, I am just using my tiny scraps for making and many as I fancy then I will decide. It's a traditional goose chase pattern with a foundation paper piecing template from Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville. The units measure 3 1/2" square and I need 1 1/2" strips and squares for sashing and corner stones.

I have a lot to finish, lots of quilting to do once I have had some more practice but I have decided not to feel bad for having lots of projects on the go. Let's see how long that lasts.
